NORRIDGE — Everyone knows Santa Claus. But how many people get to meet Mrs. Claus? Students at Dobbs Pre-school and Kindergarten, 7131 W. Pensacola Ave., Norridge, were lucky enough to spend some time with her Monday as she visited the school to spread a little holiday cheer.
Played by Lenore Pressel, Mrs. Claus said she enjoys visiting the school and speaking with the children.
Q: Where are you originally from?
A: Chicago, near Wrigley Field.
Q: What inspired you to play Mrs. Claus?
A: The woman who did it retired. Then my sister did it for a year. That was enough for her. So I’ve been playing Mrs. Claus for the last four years.
Q: What got you interested in playing the role?
A: I was retired and had the time. Now I just love it. Little kids are the best people in the whole world.
Q: Do you do any other volunteer work?
A: I volunteer at my children’s school. They’re adults now. But when they were young, I was working and didn’t have the time. Now I’m making up for that.
Q: What are you reading?
A: I like reading any kind of mystery.
Q: What’s your favorite vacation destination?
A: I love going to Florida in the winter.
Q: What is your favorite Chicago sports team?
A: The Cubs, of course.
