Men’s Club of Congregation Beth Judea of Long Grove: Preparing, serving and clean up after a meal for the homeless
Dec. 26. Travel to the Good Shepherd Lutheran Church of Grayslake on the evening of Monday, December 26 to assist the staff there in preparing, serving and cleaning up after a meal for the homeless. Open to all. The group, which lives mainly in Buffalo Grove and Arlington Heights, consisted of all ages from 13 to retirement and included 4 members of the Lake County Board. They are expecting to provide this much needed assistance again on Jan. 23 of next year. HighSight’s EVE of the EVE: 18th Anniversary Celebration and Fundraiser
Dec. 30, 8 p.m. to 1 a.m., Great Hall of Union Station, Chicago. This black-tie optional event offers more than 2,000 young, hip, urban professionals the opportunity to mix and mingle, while jump-starting their New Year’s celebrations. Guests can enjoy an open bar, heavy hors d’oeuvres, and dancin to live music. Cash raffle with 5 prizes totaling $5,000; tickets $20. The Asian American Coalition of Chicago: 29th Annual Lunar New Year Celebration and Fundraiser
