The following incidents were listed among the official reports of the Norridge and Harwood Heights police departments. Readers are reminded that an arrest does not constitute a finding of guilt. Only a court of law can make that determination.
Norridge
BATTERY
Yelena P. Chayka, 29, of 5306 N. Cumberland Ave., Chicago, was charged Jan. 22 with two counts of battery. She was cited at Dunkin’ Donuts, 5050 N. Cumberland Ave., after she allegedly scratched two people. Her bond was set at $5,000. Her next court date is March 1.
RETAIL THEFT
David Romano, 30, of 4579 N. Moody Ave., Chicago, was charged Jan. 21 with retail theft. He was cited at Kmart, 4201 N. Harlem Ave., after he allegedly left the store without paying for 10 video games. His bond was set at $1,000. His next court date is March 6.
Armin Krupalija, 22, of 8617 W. Foster Ave., Chicago, was charged Jan. 16 with retail theft. He was cited at Target, 4050 N. Harlem Ave., after he allegedly left the store without paying for two video games. His bond was set at $1,000. He next court date is March 6.
POSSESSION
Adrian Zadzilko, 21, of 3305 N. Nottingham Ave., Chicago, was charged Jan. 22 with possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia. He was stopped on the 4200 block of North Harlem Avenue after his vehicle was pulled over due to an expired registration. His bond was set at $1,000. His next court date is March 14.
Harwood Heights
DUI
Ludmila Peszek, 51, of 5449 N. Melvina Ave., Chicago, was charged Jan. 23 with driving under the influence of alcohol, failure to reduce speed, improper lane use and DUI with a blood alcohol content more than 0.8 percent. She was stopped on the 4300 block of North Oak Park Avenue when police responded to the scene of a motor vehicle crash. No injuries were reported. Her bond was set at $1,000. His next court date is Feb. 23.
BATTERY
Darek M. Gilfillan, 26, of 4901 N. Octavia Ave., was charged Jan. 20 with domestic battery. He was cited at his residence after he allegedly slapped and pushed a woman who stepped in between Gilfillan and another person during an argument. His bond was set at $7,500. His last court date was Jan. 2.
