HARWOOD HEIGHTS — A 25-year-old Harwood Heights man was killed in a fiery semi-truck crash Tuesday, July 3, in central Nebraska, the Nebraska State Patrol announced Friday.

Strahinja Krupnikovic, of Harwood Heights, and Thomas House, 35, of Fremont, Neb., were killed in a crash that involved three semi-trucks and closed a section of U.S. 30 near Silver Creek, Neb., for about 12 hours, the state patrol said in a news release. The crash victims’ names were announced Friday.

The state patrol said the crash happened about 1:30 a.m. Tuesday when Krupnikovic’s westbound truck crossed the center line and clipped an eastbound semi then collided head-on with House’s eastbound truck. Krupnikovic’s and House’s trucks burst into flames, the state patrol said.

The driver of the first eastbound semi was not injured.

The state patrol said the crash remains under investigation.
