Completes basic training
Air Force Airman 1st Class Daniel J. Gurka, son of Jean and Wally Gurka of Norridge, graduated from basic military training at Lackland Air Force Base, San Antonio, Texas.
The airman completed an intensive eight-week program that included training in military discipline and studies, Air Force core values, physical fitness, and basic warfare principles and skills.
Airmen who complete basic training earn four credits toward an associate degree in applied science through the Community College of the Air Force.
He is a 2004 graduate of Ridgewood High School and earned a bachelor’s degree in 2007 from Northern Illinois University, DeKalb.~.
