Police blotter for May 21

The following incidents were listed among the official reports of the Norridge and Harwood Heights police departments. Readers are reminded that an arrest does not constitute a finding of guilt. Only a court of law can make that determination
Norridge
DUI
Jesse Holland, 30, 8012 W. Courtland Ave., Norridge, was charged May 8 with driving while under the influence following an accident in which he allegedly drove onto a lawn, through a fence and into the chimney of a home on the 4500 block of Oak Street. Holland received a $3,000 bond and a June 1 court date in Rolling Meadows.
THEFT
Marcia Yanez, 57, 4149 Narragansett Ave., Chicago, was charged May 9 with felony theft . A police report states she attempted to leave Carson Pirie Scott, 4200 Harlem Ave., without paying for $375 worth of merchandise. Yanez received a June 10 court date in Rolling Meadows. Bond information was not available.
Julian Garcia, 24, 6515 Foster Ave., Chicago, was charged May 10 with theft. A police report states he attempted to leave Carson Pirie Scott, 4200 Harlem Ave., without paying for sunglasses worth $18. Garcia received a $1,000 bond and a June 19 court date in Rolling Meadows Municipal Court.
David Romano, 31, 4579 N. Moody Ave., Chicago, was charged May 9 with theft. A police report states he attempted to leave Kmart, 4201 Harlem Ave., without paying for six video games, value unavailable. Romano received a $1,000 bond and was assigned a June 19 court date in Rolling Meadows.
Harwood Heights
TRAFFIC
Oscar Avila, 33, 3580 Dickens Ave., Chicago, was charged May 11 with driving while his license was suspended. He was stopped on the 4500 block of Harlem Avenue. Avila received a personal recognizance bond and a June 27 court date in Rolling Meadows.
