Resurrection Science-Engineering Team places first at competition
Resurrection High School's first-place WYSE team.

The Resurrection College Prep High School Worldwide Youth in Science and Engineering Team competed in the WYSE annual regional competition on Feb. 1.
Resurrection students competed in academic competitions in a variety of academic categories including: mathematics, physics, biology, chemistry, English, and engineering graphics. Fourteen Resurrection students won medals and the Resurrection team came in 1st place in their division. The Resurrection WYSE team will advance to the sectional competition to be held March at North Central College in Naperville.
Members of the Resurrection WYSE Team who participated in the competition included seniors Sarah Black, Gabrielle Carello, Kristy Getty, Hailee Higgins, Siobhan McManus, Erin Raddatz, Christy Vargas, Hannah Zver; juniors Alexa Akana, Rebecca Borghi Joelle Denver, Yasmeen Ihmoud, Marya Kanakis, Danielle Kawaguchi, Erin Kennedy, Erin Radcliffe, Marisa Villasenor; sophomores Feranmi Adeyemo, Erin Behland, Kristin Israel, Victoria Miechowicki, Cecylia Rudel, Georgiana Yarbrough; and freshmen Bella Crum, Melanie Kanakis, and Gracie Torres.
The Resurrection College Prep High School WYSE Team members who won medals at the regional competition were: Sarah Black (Engineering Graphics – 1st place); Gabrielle Carsello (Chemistry - 1st place and Biology - 1st place); Hailee Higgins (English – 1st place; Biology – 2nd place); Siobhan McManus (Math – 1st place, English - 2nd place;); Erin Raddatz (Biology – 3rd place); Hannah Zver (Engineering Graphics – 1st place); Marya Kanakis (Math – 1st place), Erin Kennedy (English - 3rd place); Feranmi Adeyemo (Chemistry – 3rd place); Kristin Israel (Chemistry – 2nd place; Engineering Graphics – 3rd place); Cecylia Rudel (Chemistry – 2nd place; Engineering Graphics – 2nd place); Bella Crum (Physics – 3rd place); Melanie Kanakis (Physics – 1st place); and Gracie Torres (Physics – 2nd place).
