Giles Elementary School earns state award

Giles Elementary School has earned a 2012 Illinois State Board of Education Academic Excellence Award.

To earn the award, a grammar school must have made adequate yearly progress in 2011 and 2012 and must have at least 90 percent of its students meet or exceed state standards in reading and mathematics the last three years.

The Norridge school is one of 454 elementary and high schools statewide to earn the award.~.
